Kavli Workshop: Frontiers of Brain Science, Summer 2015

Application Deadline: April 10, 2015

The mammalian brain is the most intricate structure in the known universe. But thanks to major advances in imaging and neuromodulation technologies, we know much more about its workings, and its failings, than we did just a decade ago. Piece by piece, brain scientists are beginning to assemble an account of how a panoply of neurochemical signals give rise to emotions, perceptions, actions, and consciousness—and how these processes can go wrong. To help journalists understand these complex developments, the Knight Science Journalism program at MIT is assembling top neuroscientists for a two-day intensive course on frontiers in brain science, funded by the Kavli Foundation.
